What is THAT?!

Well, there it is. My first major injury! Sprained my ankle from being tackled in FLAG football. Man, girls can be so vicious sometimes. BUT.... we won by 1 point! After Kristen intercepted it I ran the ball 10 yards on the next play before getting tackled. Then, because they tackled me, they received a 15 yard penalty. This put us on the 5 yard line and we made a touchdown. Unfortunately, I didn't even get to see if because I was on the sidelines with my ankle wrenching in pain!!
What stinks is that I probably won't get to play again. We only have to win one more game to be in the championship game. Both of the games are next week :( I love playing football! The hardest thing, though, has been not being able to do everything that I normally do. I feel like I am a pretty busy person and this has just made it so that I can't do much of anything. It's hard but lucky for me I have the most wonderful husband in the world!!! He has really been taking care of me. The day after it happened he literally carried me around everywhere. We went to the doctor and then we were sent all around to pick up some crutches. He is so sweet and so patient with me. I am so grateful for him and his loving heart and for how much he loves me. I am so blessed to have him in my life:)

BUSY!

I feel like being in school and working a couple jobs all leads me to be "busy". I have very little time for other things because all the extra time that I do have, I am studying for the next test or something similar. Also, at times just to be able to spend time with Stephen we have a library date. We go to the library together and then study. HA! pretty pathetic I know. However, I can't help but to feel unfulfilled. I'm lacking in something or in some way. Well, today I realized what might be missing. If I am doing all these things for myself, what am I doing for others? When do I have time to serve others around me? I don't!
I decided it time to make time! And I don't just mean my friends and we go spend time together. I mean people who are really needing a friend or who just need a pick me up. It could be a relative or a complete stranger. It's time that I went out of my bubble and searched for others to help along the way. I haven't been like the good Samaritan. I've been one of the passer bys who can see someone needing help and just expects the next person to help them. Well if we all think that then when will they ever receive help?! I'm not talking about big elaborate things, I mean small and simple things.
As I begin to do things for others and focus on that, I know that my life will be better, it will be more fulfilled and I will receive much more joy as my life shifts.
Be that person who says HI to the girl that looks lonely. Talk to the man who looks lost. Be a friend to someone who may not have any, but most importantly, make time for the things that matter most.

WHEN! Being the key word

There isn't a matter of IF life will give you lemons, it's the matter of WHEN. This life is about dealing with the trials that are dealt to us. It's about taking those trials and enduring them with an attitude of hope and faith that all will be well. It's about relying on a greater power to help us get by.
The last month of my life has been one you could call a little crazy. One month ago I was working doing grounds maintenance for the Provo Temple, Stephen and I were living in an apartment by campus with just the two of us, and we had 7 parents. Well, life is a lot different now. It amazes me how quickly life can change. Really, life can change in just an instant.
On July 16th Stephen and I attended the funeral of grandpa Frei who found out two weeks prior that he had cancer. Then, the next day we got a phone call about a great place to live where we could take care of an elderly lady in exchange for free rent. July 19th, just two days later, we received the very, very unfortunate news that Stephen's dad had passed away and his death was very unexpected. The very next day I received a phone call saying I was chosen to be hired for the job that I had interviewed for the week prior. This job was one that I had been trying to get for the past year! I finally did it! What a roller coaster we were on those couple Of weeks.
